In the flailing light they all looked sharp-edged and ethereal and divided by great distances

Virginia Woolf
About This Quote

After the recent earthquake in Haiti, we received an outpouring of prayers and goodwill from around the world. It was one of the most touching and tragic events to happen in a long time. The images we saw on TV were heartbreaking, but we also saw them in a different light. We saw the people’s humanity.

We saw that they were just like us, struggling with everyday problems, just trying to get by. Their own light had not yet been extinguished and they were still trying to find their way through these dark times.
